Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how GrayPlate (“the App”, package name com.grayplate.app) handles information when you use our Android application. GrayPlate is a visual tool for mindful eating: it applies live camera filters to food imagery, lets you save photos locally, organizes them in a gallery, and may load educational web content in an in-app view. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.

1. Who we are

The App is published as GrayPlate. For privacy requests, contact: zqy256@gmail.com.

2. Information the App processes

Camera & photos. The App requests camera permission to show a live preview and capture still images. Image processing for filters occurs on your device. Saved photos and related metadata you create are stored on your device (including app storage / local database as implemented in the App). We do not design the App to upload your photo library to our servers for cloud storage.

App preferences. Settings such as default filter choice and in-app language preference are stored locally on your device (e.g., via Android preferences / DataStore and related system mechanisms).

Network & in-app content. The App uses network access (INTERNET) to load remote content where applicable (for example, pages shown inside the App’s web view) and to communicate with third-party services described below.

3. Firebase & analytics

The App integrates Google Firebase services, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, as configured in the project. These services may automatically collect certain technical and usage information such as:

This processing is governed by Google’s policies. For details, see Google’s Privacy & Terms: Google Privacy Policy and Firebase documentation.

4. How we use information

We use the information above to:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the camera feed for undisclosed remote recording or live streaming to third parties.

5. Sharing

When Firebase services are enabled, data described in Section 3 is processed by Google LLC (and its affiliates) as a service provider under the Firebase configuration. If you share a photo yourself using Android’s share sheet, that action is between you and the app or service you choose—we do not control those third parties.

6. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

7. Security

We implement reasonable measures to protect information processed through the App and configured services. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices & rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal data. You can uninstall the App to remove locally stored App data from your device (subject to your device backup behavior). You may also adjust device settings related to permissions, analytics, and advertising where applicable.

9. International transfers

If you use the App outside the United States, information processed by Google services may be transferred to and processed in countries where Google operates data centers, as described in Google’s policies.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
